Swap fitness machines, artificial noise, queuing, and judgemental eyes, with functional fitness and the sound of nature. It’s a no brainer!

Service: Circuit Training. Each station is timed so work as hard as you want too.

What better way to learn simple/effective psychology hacks when walking in the wilderness! Hikes take place in Northumberland, North Pennines, The Lake District and Snowdonia

Service: Mountain and Lowland guide for individuals or small groups.
Location: Northumberland, Cumbria, Durham and Snowdonia 
Duration: 6 + hours depending on fitness levels, goals and needs.

Service: Replace bad habits with good habits! We will work together to formulate an effective strategy that caters for your individual needs using worksheets, discussion and a little homework.
Location: We can conduct the session in an outdoor green space or in doors via a Zoom link.

The Exhilarate class will be a classic exercise circuit of moderate intensity. You can work as hard as you want within the timed exercise intervals. The Exposure class will be vigorous intensity and require a good level of fitness. Please read the Terms & Conditions and consult your Doctor before booking.

The short answer is an absolute yes. We get straight to business in a non-judgemental, respectful and professional manner. We cater for a wide spectrum of people and can adapt some exercises and hikes to suit you. Please read the Terms & Conditions and consult your Doctor before booking. 

Please check the weather the day before the session. Don't over dress if it's warm or under dress if it's cold. Bring waterproofs if showers are likely. Always bring an extra layer and a dry layer (fleece top) to throw on after we have finished. In the winter warms socks, gloves and a hat are important. 

Unless the Met Office issues a severe weather warning, all classes will go ahead. Wet, cold, dark, raining..no problem. Just wear suitable clothes and treat the environment as an opportunity to develop your resilience. 

Yes the fitness classes are similar to bootcamp. However, the term bootcamp usual indicates an  arduous military style workout. Although the Exposure class will be challenging, it will also include a jog/resistance training session.   Exhilarate class will be a standard exercise circuit in a relaxed, fun and friendly  atmosphere. This is a step away from Military style workouts and usual  connotations of being yelled at by a person in camouflage.    

Yes I offer private sessions with no more than two people. All services are available privately from Hike & learn, outdoor fitness and tailored  mindset coaching. 

No my official title is a mindset coach. I am unable to provide ongoing psychological therapy. However, I am able to teach key 'take home' areas in psychology such as behaviour change, motivation, REBT frame works etc. I also have very good listening and communicating skills.I can recommend some highly experienced and local counsellors/therapists if you feel that you need extra support

Yes for sure! I provide day and overnight wilderness expeditions in The Lake District and Snowdonia. We can cover mountainous scrambling terrain or classic walking routes. 

Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy was the first Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. REBT was devised by Albert Ellis. In a very small nut shell, REBT teaches us to reflect on core beliefs and view negative emotional responses in a rational way. Its core philosophy is based in stoicism. REBT provides a realistic, uncomplicated and memorable framework to help you deal with life's adversities.

For all services a defibrillator and basic trauma pack will be present. I am a qualified First responder holding a FREC level 3 certificate.
